CHHamsaTon spielt „bekannte“ arabische Tanzmusik, die alle Hände, Füße und Herzen in Bewegung bringt! Das frisch gegründete Ensemble – derzeit aus sieben Musiker*innen aus Graz – gibt seine Weltpremiere am 02. Mai 2025 beim Lendwirbel-Einsatz des Graz Grammar Picó Sound Systems im Fröbelpark!

Abraham legt hauptsächlich jamaikanische Musik der 60er bis 80er Jahre auf die Plattenteller. Selbst eingefleischte Reggae-Kenner können sich auf die eine oder andere Überraschung freuen.

Rainer Binder-Krieglstein & Georg Wissa werden in live zur Modeschau mit aus Müll gefertigten Instrumenten Musik machen und das Graz Grammar Picó Sound System wird mit Musik aus Sri Lanka und dem Fernen Osten ein stimmungsvolles Ambiente für das Come-together umranden.

Es bezeichnet eine Lebensphilosophie und ruft zu einer gerechten und solidarischen Gesellschaft auf. Wir sind ein Verein zur Förderung der Kultur, Integration und des Kulturaustausches.
Der LENDWIRBEL ist mehr als nur ein Straßenfest!
Jedes Jahr im Mai verwandeln sich Straßen und Plätze zu einem Ort, an dem schier alles möglich ist, was dem urbanen Miteinander gut tut. Der Lendwirbel versteht sich als kritisch und (gesellschafts-)politisch, bietet Parteipolitik und Selbstbeweihräucherung aber keine Bühne. Von der oberen Griesgasse bis hinauf zum Lendplatz wird der öffentliche Raum von all jenen Menschen rückerobert, die sich im Rahmen der ganzjährig stattfindenden Netzwerktreffen proaktiv eingebracht haben.

Larissa Rodiga holds a degree in educational sciences and is currently immersed in the world of Interaction Design. Delving into societal dynamics, Larissa’s art particularly explores the role of women amidst challenges like sexualization. Through her work, she seeks to foster understanding and dialogue on these complex issues, weaving technology and creativity into a thoughtful exploration of societal themes.
Arthur de Liz Sperb, 21, Brazilian, currently living in Austria for his studies in Information Design. Despite being in the early stages of his artistic journey, Arthur has already left his mark in Berlin and Graz, showcasing his passion for linocuts, prints and mural art. Street Art and the wonders of nature serve as his everyday muses, inspiring him to bring his humble yet heartfelt artworks to life.

In this thought-provoking artwork, the inspiration drawn from the earlier “Amazon Magyar” takes on a distinct and innovative form. Aiming to challenge conventional perceptions of the female body as an object of desire, the piece prompts reflection on the extent to which people can truly recognize the feminine figure beyond stereotypes.
The primary objective of this piece is to employ stencils, strategically creating negative spaces that deconstruct the conventional image of the female form. Through this process, the artist endeavors to present the Amazon not merely as an embodiment of power, strength, and allure, but as a multifaceted symbol representing knowledge (embodied by the book in her hand) and joyous celebration (captured by the disco ball in the other hand). The deliberate use of stencils, with their reliance on negative space, underscores the portrayal of a deconstructed Amazon, urging viewers to see beyond preconceived notions.
The diverse use of artistic elements such as spray paint, tags, bombs, names, figures, stencils, and traditional painting serves to merge the vibrancy and dynamism of street art with the refined setting of the pico. This fusion invites the viewer to imagine extracting a fragment of a street wall, adorned with an array of street art, and transplanting it into the pico. The symbolism is poignant – just as street art embodies freedom, collaboration, inclusivity, and a riot of colors, so too does the pico. By extension, music, another form of freedom and love, becomes an integral part of this narrative.
The intentional juxtaposition of these techniques and symbols creates a powerful intersection, symbolizing the freedom of womanhood – a declaration that women are more than societal expectations suggest. Placed against a backdrop reminiscent of street art, the artwork communicates a universal message, urging viewers to recognize this cause as collective, liberating, and diverse. It is a celebration of strength, knowledge, collaboration, and the vivid tapestry that makes up the essence of womanhood.

DJ PISTOL PETE seine jahrzehntelange Suche nach obskuren Sampeln im Vinylformat und echt schiachen Hemden brachte ihn vom Hip Hop zum Soul, Funk, Disco, Jazz und ließen ihn in den letzten Jahren vermehrt Afro Beat und rare Afro Rock Platten entdecken. Als „Resident DJ“ im Speisesaal, Laufke, Kombüse sowie Cafe Wolf bringt er regelmäßig analoges Knistern auf die Dancefloors.
